The False Consciousness of Marxism
Marx doesn't really get us to human nature all that much, and that seems to be a considerable failing. The real question I've always had with this angle of Marx's thought is why people don't find it thoroughly offensive? Because really he's saying you're too stupid to know what your interest is but he's also building in a point of blame.
