i offer poper's defence of philosophy broadly and rejection of what might be called the first seeds of contemporary relativism. Witgenstein, it must be emphasized, was no relativist. He embraced science as a route to truth, indeed, the only rout. But he did plant the seeds of relativism, innocently, ignorant about what they would go on to spawn in philosophy and wider academia later. And that led to some of the situations we now find ourselves in with race studies,. third way feminism marks us re tellings and re imaginings and more. Understanding where some of this went wrong might help us to correct our course.
