What's Going on With Spiritual Communion?
Nicholas: St. Thomas talks about spiritual communion and that it gives the effects of physical communion. He says a proper act of spiritual communion is when we make an act of faith and love toward the Eucharist specifically while already having the baseline spiritual friendship with Christ. Nicholas: Just because one receives physical communion doesn't mean one will receive more grace than someone who receives spiritual communion.
