Betty Leister's Children's Book

In 1877, she publishes her first book, which is called Deephaven. She does write several novels, but it's her sketches, her essays, and her poetry that I think become more famous with the exception of The Country of the Pointed First. Unfortunately, in 1878, her father dies. And there wasn't very much that I could again find on her reaction to that,. But I would imagine based on the childhood that she had kind of growing up going along with him that that had a significant impact on her life was his death.
