China's Making Inroads in the Pacific?
Few countries in the pacific are going to plately abandon their relationships with china, except for those four that still have relations with tian. Most see the chinese largely as welcome partners that provide development assistance. They like idea of big powers competing against each other which they think ultimately works to their advantage. The united states needs to first have more sustained attention to the pacific. And i just think whether it's diplomacy or its economic engagement, private sector co operation, investment, we just need to do more.
