Unions are powerful in some professions and industries, such as with teachers, nurses and transportation workers. But it's not always a great move on the part of management. Cause while unions can lead to higher wages, they also can help insure better on between management and workers. And when managers and workers communicate more, this can mean that things are done more efficiently - boosting profitability.
