Is Exposure Really Effective?

There's a lot of debate about how exposure really works. And the cognitive therapists say it actually works by changing the person's thoughts. So for example, when Terry did her jumping jacks, she was afraid she was about to have a heart attack. Once she started doing an aerobic exercise, running place and jumping jacks at the height of a panic attack that I pushed her to do this, she discovered after two or three minutes of this that she wasn't going to have aheart attack.
