Aristaeus planned to sandwich the advancing Athenian army between two forces One on the isthmus and one at Olympus. Calius had correctly guessed that there would be some sort of trouble coming out of Olympus And so he sent his Macedonian cavalry and a few of his allies to that location ahead of time.
