The Problem With Social Networks
CNN's John Sutter spoke with the author about his new book, The Art of War. He said social networks have created a delusion that they're building an empire on rented land. When Facebook changes its algorithm, it can wipe out companies like medium and Mighty Networks who are dependent on other platforms to grow their audience. Google makes a fortune from piracy; YouTube also accounts for about half of all online music streaming - which is already insultingly small.
