Few women ran magazines, even women's magazines. It was difficult for a woman journalist to about anything other than fashional recipes. The low point of my work there was writing an entire article about textured stockings. At that first meeting, there were so many women crammed into gloria steinham's apartment, people had to sit on the floor.
