The Importance of Criticism in the Mormon Church
Mormons are sworn, in my case, with a death oath. You make oaths not to ever criticize the Lord's anointed. If you ever publicly criticize the church and specifically its leaders, you are faced with excommunication. And if you think I'm joking, I was excommunicated in 2015 primarily because Mormon stories the podcast and I dared to question and even criticize the leadership. So many public figures have been excommunicated by the church for criticizing it.
