The Event Horizon: The Limit for Light Escape
The event horizon is the limit for light escaping for light bending around. It could actually be much, much larger and the exact distance out depends on how far the star and black hole are from each other. There'll still be some distance out to the side of the star where light gets bent just right to bend it back towards you. But that distance is going to be larger than the event horizon.
