The Moral Complaints of Brule
Etchien Brule was seen as morally depraved and untrustworthy by some in New France. For many of the French, Brule had become a savage; he lived on the terms of the natives. His actions would come in conflict with those of Champlain and the administration of New France. The story of Brule going over to English is a murky one: Some sources flat out call him a traitor.
