Creationism and the Literal Six Days, 24 Hour Days

All land animals and birds, not in the ark, along with many sea creatures, perished. Many were subsequently buried in the flood sedimentss creationists believed that the global catastrophic flood was responsible for most, but not all, of the rock layers and fossils. The dominant meaning of yom, the hebrew word for day in the old testament, is a literal day. So it can mean other things, which we'll talk about when we get to a few other viewpoints here. But the younger creationist viewpoint is that jam means a literal 24 hour day.
