Could marian have been murdered in europe when she was just vacationing? It's possible that the person who had stolen marian's identity was just able to mimic marian's handwriting in a way that fooled sally. If this were someone who had murdered marian, there would have been no reason to use her passport to re enter australia. So they could have done so by coming into australia on a wholyother passport. But experts could not be sure.
