Our experiences as citizens of a country are shaped by who we are as individuals Meghan explains. A Bolivian man with a university degree would very likely experience patterns of exclusion that are quite different from those of an indigenous Bolivian woman who hadn't finished secondary school. For example she might be on the very periphery of legal citizenship in Chile so she might have a tourist visa but she's working unauthorized. These are all very complex aspects of citizenship that play out across borders and all of them could change depending on both her exercise of agency through everyday practices.
