I was born to pretty conservative parents who kept saying you should get married in your twenties. When it comes to working mothers, they are often considered not that reliable at work because usually Japanese men don't actively being involved in child care at home. I think nowadays there is such an acceptance to a variety of lifestyles that the stigma of being single or childless is a lot less. So women today, younger women today, I think have greater degree of freedom.
