Liberalism Is a Democracy by Contestation Among Equals
Liberalism is kidding itself if it thinks it's a purely relativistic creed or something like that. It has values. And the limiting principle is we value things like people being able to think for themselves and make their own choices. That's not to say liberals can't oppress political opponents. We can and do, and maybe sometimes we should. But it is a limiting principle that is really hard wired into the core of liberalism. i don't think there's any liberal thinker worth attending to as a liberal who actually asserts that i am.
