French Citizenship in the Present Context of France's Muslim Minority

A lot of French history post the revolution is very assimilationist it's like anybody can become a French citizen. But where do you think then that leaves the idea of French citizenship in the present context of France's Muslim minority? I'm not saying it's a right take which would say that there's something that's quite distinctive about French politics in the relationship between religion and politics.
