What Is Gnosticism?
Dosetism fed into a whole wing of christianity, which we now call gnosticism. Some people at the time called themselves gnostics. The main conflict in gnosticism is between knowledge and ignorance. They saw christ as offering salvation, not so much from sin, as from ignorance.
