The Role of Caste in Civil Rights
There is no one way to be caste-depressed. And so allowing people to choose their pathway of how they liberate themselves, the naming, you know, is really quite important. So I always feel like it's really important to just meet folks where they're at. Whatever people want to call themselves, it's that there is their self-determined right. For the purposes of law and for the purposes of how people understand the civil rights struggles around caste, usually we think of dollets as those who are most targeted by caste discrimination wherever it might lie.
