The Incapacity of Political Movements
I mean, I agree with you that there are kind of structural limits to what this kind of political movement could ever deliver for workers in general. But it seems to me it's something, it's a claim that will have to be tested and people will have to learn it by experience. The Republican Party is structurally an anti-tax party when the entire structure of the party is devoted to cutting taxes. So how on earth are you going to mobilize that base to fight an anti- tax party? And you know, again, maybe things are like changing pretty quickly, but that's a pretty bad starting point in terms of what I mean.
