The biggest problem in sensible labor relations between the employer and the employee is that the courts take just too long. There is no way to enforce a contract, so all your contracts are taking place instert of like the shadow of the law. Even if we got most perfect labor regulation who's going to enforce the stuff? The enforcement problem, again, it just seems like something that started in the colonial period and just steadily got worse at some level.
