I feel like Stanislavski was trying to legitimize his ideas by rooting them in science and scientific vocabulary and language, you know? But it's not a science. There's a part of the art-making impulse, regardless of the art form, that is ineffable and can't be described in language. And he knew that and he struggled with that, which is why his writing could be so incomprehensible sometimes because he's trying to describe something that can't actually be described.
