"I thought she was trying to be the most relatable version and that she's being the most controversial version," Dunham said. "That failing of the expectation to be relatable is definitely like a part of the engine that fuels the controversy" She says Lena gave us what society wants a woman to be but never felt it was really Lena, not Hannah Horvath or even herself. The author also talked about how we have misguided expectations for women in Hollywood.
