The peter principle is that in a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to their level of incompetence. So as we say, if you're incompetent, that's where you stay. You stay for the rest of your career as an incompetent classroom teacher. The example can be really extrapolated and applied to every hierarchy in every single establishment. Yes, the first layer of the hierarchy is your class room teacher fresh out o unite. And really you're either going to be competent or incompetent.
