How Political Importance Affects Newspaper Circulation

Political importance is essentially the share of the state legislative assembly that is coming from a market. To get causal evidence on this to get a causal claim we need some exogenous change on political importance. India as any democracy is a delimiting its constituencies and because population is growing at different pace at different places once in a while typically when new census numbers become available those constituencies are withdrawn so that each constituency has more or less same population.
