The Silence Rule

The silence rule was partly there to discourage friendships from forming, but it actually helped carol form a new kind of connection. These weren't friendships where find a person you like and then create a one and one link with them. Carol was paying close attention to all o the women around her. Whether she thouht they were fabulous or wasn't a big fan of them,. She was connected to them, kind of like a web, communal intimacy. And carol got so into sisterhood that it became other worldly.
