We need a new generation of teachers who do not spend all their lesson time correcting mistakes. We've trained that fear through ctice, by looking for the mistakes and feeling as if we are just victims of them. And there's not enough teaching of how to enjoy music. The late and great jas musician, walter norris, i used to say, there are no easy passages. This was a very wide answer to your question, but i really believe we have to change our minds,. Set in lessons and during practice and then on stage, to make sure i get everything right.
