Gruszeca: A Novel About the Nazis
Luton wrote Gruszeca to help write out the Great Depression, but later that year he got a job writing for MGM's publicity office in New York City. By 1939, he was an uncredited writer on Gone with a Wind and by 1942, he began producing some of the best horror movies ever made. The book was controversial in its days and Luton's notes say that he had a photo of the NYPD shoveling a copy of Gruszaca into the police furnace. Some can have Mike read a few choice passages for our listeners.
