Is There a Human Consciousness?

The development of the cortex and the capacity to think, in other words, to generate virtual realities is an important part of what we mean by a conscious human. And as much as i say that consciousness in its most rudimentary form is simply raw feeling, then i don't want to pretend for a moment that e, the cognitive, conscious thinking, deliberative, the reflective kinds of consciousness are uniquely human. I thinki'sthat this comes into beingtitwithout effect. The crucial transition er is not so much from a non cognitive to a cognitive organism but at what point does it start to feel like something to be that organism? That's when we start speaking about minds in the sense that
