The Problem of the American Negro

Boaz was pessimistic about why people's capacity to think of people who aren't white as human. And relatedly, he argued constantly that race is not a biological reality. He said the long-term solution to anti-black racism was the lightning of the black population in the US through interracial sounds. Boazians recognize there's a difference between classifying people into whiteness and non-whiteness. But their imagination of overcoming Racism can't deal with color, because it's modeled on European assimilation.
