Docks are ingesting lead pellets as they gather grit for their gizzard. It's not just poisoning them in the gizzard, ye, it'll pass. It's passing intact, yes, into the gut. And there's a lot of comparison photos that the fishing wildlife service had that shows like a normal duck's healthy stomach and healthy gizzard to a leads-poisoned one.
