The Role of Presynchopy in Diabetes and Atrial Fibrillation

Presynchopy is the prodromal symptom of fainting. It usually lasts seconds to minutes and it's often described by patients as nearly blacking out. The most important question to ask in your history, which I'm so glad that you did, Leanna, is whether or not the patient had loss of consciousness. True syncopy can raise higher concern for underlying badness and has increased risk of death and morbidity.
