For the last 20 or 30 years, we have heard central bank governors and finance ministers tell us that buying lots of houses was a bad idea. Now back in 19 98, house prices have more than quadrupled. Since then, two thousand and three, they have more than tripled. And even since 20 13, 20 14, Prices have more than doubled. So when you hear an economist say this time is different, your ears should prick up. And certainly mind it. Be careful before by has come out and said, this time isdifferent.
