Getting Back to the Tree of Life
In Genesis two, god places adam in the garden of eden to dress it and to keep it. To go back to eden, we'd have to go climb back up, going up stream through these rivers. And we'd ultimately have to find our way past cherubim and the flaming sword, which we'll meet next week. All of that, by the way, is temple imagery. The temple of solomon, the temple in ezekiel's vision, the tabernacle of moses in the wilderness or the salt lake temple are situated facing east and on a hill.
