Sidney Rigden and the Happiness Letter
Sidney Rigden was Joseph Smith's vice presidential candidate in the 1880 General Conference. He came off as weak and sick to Brigham Young, who wanted to be with the 12th. Sidney Rigden is like the number two guy and probably should have been the person to take over the church. It really just became a battle of winning the hearts of the church.
