Are You Feeling the Pinch in the Run Up to Christmas?
Fewer than a quarter of people told us that they would be able to comfortably afford Christmas. That's down about 50% half of what it was when we did the same poll last Christmas. The price cap on energy was 900 pounds back in just March and is now 2,500 pounds. We've seen interest rates go up which is putting real pressure on those with mortgages. And we've seen food really go up for lots of households as well. So we're not surprised by the results of this poll today.
