Introduction
A group of 19th century sealers are stranded on an island 300 miles south of the southernmost tip of new zealand after their ship goes down. Out of the mist steps a pig, which turns out to be one of many animals that had been put there by British mariner who thought people would end up stranded here. The pigs eat baby chicks and eggs of albatross and other birds as well as much of the native flora. They have also killed over 30 species of birds during their two centuries on the island. This story is going to take us from the castaway islands into a local mayor's office, inside of a high security quarantine facility, and finally into the human body
