The Challenges of Decentralized Identity
There's been over a decade of work by the World Web Foundation and various public private hybrid entities on forms of decentralized identity. The challenge has been that most of the time these have been thought of as public goods. I think all these technologies are converging to the point whereby it's totally plausible to say in the next 12 months, even, that a form of identity solution or maybe a stack of protocols will solve for this.
