Your sympathetic nervous system is responsible for your fight, flight freeze or fawn. The parasympathetic nervous system is what gets activated after a big meal. If you're able to communicate and engage from a more grounded, calm orientation, the likelihood that that communication is going to go effectively are quite a bit higher.
