The Importance of Faith in Our Lives
Luther's radical interpretation of Paul puts him at odds with the Catholic Church. He takes Augustine's notion that the neoplatonic mystical ascent is insufficient on its own and has to be supplemented by God through Christ. The idea here is that faith is, notice what's happened, all that sense of participatory knowing,. We're participating in a process. All of that is now gone. It's gone. And your sense of what it’s like to be you...is completely twisted and illusory.
