How to Play a Game Like a Human
A human being tries about 35 positions as far as we can tell when he's in a position. A machine makes something like 35 million positions to check. That doesn't make the machine better than the other guy. We don't understand how we do it. The man does it by recognizing a pattern. Oh, this knight can walk the king and queen or something. So if it goes here, so I have to watch out about that square. At least he describes it that way. We really don't know how he works.
