i applaud carter for making an extraordinary decision to say, you know what, this is how we're going to move forward. And yes, i know there'll be critics on both sides of this but it's the right thing to do. There was also a ton of political opportunism, no surprise. senator barry goldwater called it the most disgraceful thing a president has ever done. Do our two historians have any thoughts about thes disgraceful things a presidentd was asleep three years after watergate?
