The Disagreement Between Lagarde and Bailey and Powell on Economic Forecasting

The credibility of economic forecasting and whether it's private or public forecasts has just gone down a lot since 2020 or 2021. So now when you get these gatherings like we had today, it just doesn't have the same punch because people don't believe what they're hearing. And I think that's really been the sort of like the hallmark of this whole cycle, right? It is just the inability of forecasters to predict what's going to happen, and that continues.
