How Immersion Can Help You Learn Fast Speech

I think immersion through listening sometimes doesn't work because there's so much that people miss. And so, you know, something we do in the movie club is I get the students to work with film clips and so I send them bits of the clips to listen to and then write, write out to see what they managed to catchWhat they miss. You know whether they learn in your expression or they realize that words they already know are pronounced quite differently. So, I would say that they've been tuning in more to how how English really sounds. That's what I try to combine with my students is watching the movie for pleasure and then coming back and working on clips and doing the detailed listening
