The Importance of Redeeming Slavery

In 1995 a ministry called Christian Solidarity International began redeeming slaves in Sudan by buying Christian children back. Many freed slaves bore signs of beatings, burnings, and other tortures. Chasidic stories abound with tales of Jewish people in Eastern Europe getting arrested and imprisoned for inability to pay their debts. This reminds us that redemption is about both the land and the people.
