The Persecution of the Assyrian Community

In the 1970s and 1980s, Assyrians were granted cultural rights. They became a denominational community in less than 10 years. This allowed an Eastern intellectual class to consolidate during that period. The new generation of Assyrian men and women was mostly born in the 1950s or 1960s. It is not clear if they are directly affected by their parents' urban migrations.
