How to Know When to Sell an Option and When to Hold an Option

If the stock option that you own is extremely illiquid so you can't just quote sell it or you could sell it but it would be at much lower to the sort of theoretical value yeah. Even if it's a little liquid there's some price at which the market makers are willing to take the other side right? You typically want to exit options trades once they stop working or do you like to hold you'll let them expire worthless essentially. It's better to kind of decide ahead of time when you're clear headed and say like you know if it's clearly trending in the wrong direction once it hits a certain threshold I'm gonna sell to recuperate the time value.
