In 2017 I got hit in the head by some jackass while playing basketball and ever since then I've had headaches. These headaches were incapacitating for a few years, then unbearable, then somewhat bearable and now thankfully just a minor annoyance. CBT which is short for cognitive behavioral therapy because the goal is to marry the mental and nervous system response with the pain. It's a psychological treatment that's been as or more effective than medicine or other treatments in many cases. In general the shift away from drugs and towards things like CBT has been pronounced.
